Being able to understand all the aspects of two different items is a fundamental set of skills all adults need. It is how we determine which home is better for us. As well as which car we should be driving. This skill starts in the English classroom when we begin comparing nonfictional text. These worksheets help students organize their thoughts when compare full or parts of text.

Write & Compare - Give your students a prompt to write a story. The stories should revolve around the same topic.
Character Comparison - Read or listen to two stories. With a partner, answer the questions about the characters.
Do You Want to Build a Snowman? - How is your snowman similar to or different from your partner's snowman?
Melanie & Manny - Melanie loves to be outside. She loves to hike. She is really good at swimming.
Picture Book Comparisons - Read two picture books about the same topic. Compare the illustrations, and fill out the table below.
Play Date - Read or listen to the two short stories and answer the questions.
Sun & Sunflower - Compare sunflowers to the sun by filling out the chart.
Compare/Contrast Question & Answer - You may need to assist/prompt students in asking helpful questions (consider characters, setting, plot, etc.)
Birthday Parties - Read or listen to the stories and answer the questions below.
Read & Comparing Fables - After reading or listening to two fables (stories that teach a lesson), compare them using the chart.
