When we have more than one person, place, or thing described by a word we refer to this as a plural noun. Most plurals in the English language are formed by simply adding –s or –es as a suffix to the singular word. Words that follow a standard or well establish pattern are referred to as regular. Words that deviate from these established norms are referred to as irregular. The worksheet collection found below will help students learn the use and function of plural nouns.

Most nouns are made plural by simply adding an –s or –es to the ending. Nouns that differ from this formation are considered irregular. The most common irregular plurals end in -ves: knives, wolves, elves. Using these new spelling practices takes work. You need to put a decent level of effort in to master them. These worksheets will provide students the opportunity to get after the plurals and use the irregular spellings frequently.
