Core Standard

There are words in the English language that are like duct tape, when you need them. They help hold a sentence together and the thoughts that come with them. Conjunctions are the words that keep phrases and clauses together. There are words that hold together phrases, sentence, and independent clauses these are called coordinating conjugates. If you are trying to hold together a dependent clause and an independent clause you would use a subordinating conjunction. These are called subordinating conjunctions.
