Core Standard

A pronoun shift is a grammatical error that can occur when a writer starts a section of text by using one specific type of pronoun and then suddenly changes it to another form. This often leaves readers confused and looking for answers and leaves them confused. The most common form is of this shift occurs when the a writer shifts from the third-person (he/she) to the second person (you/your). Authors may also make the common mistake of shifting from singular to plural nouns. These worksheets help students learn to spot pronoun shifts and correct them.
