Suffixes and Parts
of Speech – A suffix is a word part added to the end of a base
or root word that modifies or changes the meaning of a word.
Affect Meaning – You can figure out the meanings of an unfamiliar
word by studying its suffix, and making a connection between the unfamiliar
word and a word you already know.
Changes: Parts of Speech – Identify the part of speech for each
word. Then identify the word change pattern that indicates the likely
part of speech. Follow the example.
