Hard C Worksheets

Core Standard
Answer Keys Here

The hard c sound makes a (kuh) sound. You tend to find this sound in single syllable words such as, the commonly used example word: (cat). In almost all cases, without even sounding out the word, you can spot a hard c sound within a word. You can do this by looking for the vowels (e, i, or y). If the c is located in front of any of these vowels, it is not a hard sound. If the c is located in front of any other letters, it is a hard sound. There are a few sight words that do not follow those rules. This is why we recommend tackling this sound latter in the progression of program. You will find a wide range of worksheets below that will help you learn to spot this sound within words and form new words with the sound.
