Being able to be critical of your own work and others is just as much a salient skill as being able to comprehend or write. As with those skills it takes time and experience to master the process of revision. This can be done best through a peer revision process. Learning to revise work reinforces good writing technique. Being critical of the work of others can help you develop better writing awareness. These worksheets will help students learn to work cooperatively through the revision process.

Guided Writing Worksheets:

Peer Review - Peer review is a process by which a piece of writing is checked by others in the same field to make sure that it meets the necessary standards before it is published. You can use the peer review process to help you to improve your writing. Swap papers with a classmate. Read each other's papers. Answer the questions.

Making the Grade - Your grade point average reflects your grades in every class, not just the core subjects like reading, writing, math, and science. Edit Your Work: Run-on Sentences - When you write a first draft, it is a good idea to write quickly, getting down everything that comes to mind as you develop your ideas. But often, in doing so, you end up with sentences that need some work. A run‐on sentence is two or more complete sentences that are punctuated as one long sentence. Run on sentences are a typical problem in first drafts, but can be corrected during the editing process.

Tips For Guided and Peer Writing Reviews


Peer review is one of the most important steps of research. It is the evaluation of research done by a number of people. In peer review, researchers hand over their paper to their fellows, close friends, and other such people so that they can point out any error or any misleading idea that might be there in the work. Peer reviews help scholars to assess their works before the final and actual publication. This activity is mainly planned to check the quality, validity, and authenticity of a scholarly work. Not everyone can lead a useful peer review. Reviewing a scholarly work is a critical task that needs a close and in-depth reading of the paper.


Following are some tips for the peer and guided review writing:


Keep Your Integrity Intact


Whenever a paper is given to a reviewer, the first thing the reviewer should make sure is that he or she takes proper care of the paper and keeps it confidential. Scholarly papers are meant to be published and therefore the details and ideas presented in the paper should not be disclosed before publication at any cost to anyone.


Stick to The Topic


Before commenting, the reviewer should keep in mind that his comments must only be related to the paper and its content not on the author's personal beliefs and that they do not deviate from the subject.


Be Productive


The reviewer must prove himself as advantageous to the author. It means that the review should provide some benefit to the researcher and help him in improving his research.


Go Through the Facts


It is beneficial for the researcher if the reviewer cross-checks the statistics included in the paper for their authenticity.


View the Conclusion First
