When we are communicating to convey a message to another party it is important to make sure that your message is received well. When you are writing for professional purposes with a specific goal in mind, you will write in a formal manner. Formal letters are written in a strict format, with a passive voice, and it results in longer and more complex writing. Informal letters are meant to be writing for personal communication for the most part. Marketers have had some success with persuading customer by crossing informal letters over to business clients.
